The Adriatic is published by the Institute for Strategic Solutions (ISR), a research institute based in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address.

When you register for one of our events, we collect your first name, last name, company or organisation and email address.

Like most websites, we may use cookies to understand how visitors use our site. You can disable cookies through your browser settings.

We use your email address solely to send you our biweekly newsletter and occasional updates about The Adriatic. We do not use your email for any other purpose, and we will never sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes.

Events are organised by the Institute for Strategic Solutions (ISR), which publishes The Adriatic. We use the details you give when registering to confirm your place, prepare the list of participants and send you practical information about that event. We do not add you to our newsletter unless you tick the box to receive it.

Registrations are stored in Brevo (see below). Registration forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that the form is being filled in by a person rather than a bot.

We use Brevo, an EU-based email service provider, to manage our newsletter subscriptions and event registrations. Brevo processes your email address on our behalf and stores it on secure servers within the European Union.

Brevo is GDPR-compliant and acts as a data processor under our instruction. For details on how Brevo handles data, see their privacy policy.

As an EU-based publication, we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation. You have the right to access, rectify, or delete your personal information. You can object to processing at any time. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time, and we will remove your email from our list within 48 hours.

We retain your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we delete your information from our active mailing list, though we may retain minimal records to comply with legal obligations.
