Our purpose is to tell the story of a region reimagined. While others focused on geopolitics and past conflicts, we saw something different: a people united by shared ambitions and fresh opportunities. Launched in 2019, The Adriatic builds on the legacy of the Institute for Strategic Solutions, Slovenia’s largest independent think tank founded in 2011.

From our home in Ljubljana, we spotlight the innovators, creative pioneers, and emerging business leaders who are reshaping the Adriatic region. Our writers deliver insights for entrepreneurs and policymakers, blending sharp regional analysis with coverage of its vibrant cultural and business landscape.

Our events bridge the gap between informed audiences and key innovators across the region. Through curated gatherings and content, we connect business leaders, policymakers and creative pioneers who are actively shaping Europe’s future from its South-east.

Each year, we publish our flagship magazine The Adriatic: Strategic Foresight, reaching thousands of influential decision-makers in government and business. We mark each edition with an annual event in Ljubljana and a sister event hosted in one of the regional capitals.
